Are you curious about the future of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award now that federal funding has been cut?

Would you like to learn more about the Virginia SPQA programs? Virginia SPQA offers:

• A multi-level Award and Recognition Program  
• A short version, non-award program (Discovery Program)
• SPQA/Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence training
• Knowledge sharing events

Organizations that participate in SPQA programs experience extensive learning by engaging in these Baldrige-based programs and receiving independent examiner feedback noting strengths and opportunities for improvement based on the Baldrige criteria.

The Baldrige-based assessments encourage a systematic and integrated business model that includes a focus on leadership, strategic planning, customers, measurement, workforce, operations, and results.

Virginia SPQA programs are low levels of investment with high levels of learning. 

Bob Bowles Biography

Bob retired with 41years of military and federal civil service with the U.S. Coast Guard, Navy, and Air Force. He spent 18 of those years as the Quality Manager for the Coast Guard Finance Center in Chesapeake.  Bob also has 20 years of experience implementing and evaluating the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence in a variety of organizations.  He has served on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award for Virginia since 1993 and has served as the organization’s Executive Director since 1999.  Bob is also an adjunct instructor for the National Graduate School teaching a variety of Quality Systems Management courses at the Masters and Bachelors level in Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland.  He also does independent coaching to help organizations implement the Baldrige business model.
